Philippe Roesch

Mr. Roesch has built up a 23 years successful international funds and direct investments track record on behalf of blue chip investors. As a founding Managing Partner of RIAM, he advises reputable family offices and institutional investors on their private equity portfolio allocation, the selection of funds and direct investments as well as on the purchase of funds commitments in the secondary market.

Before founding RIAM, he was Head of Private Equity Europe and Managing Director with Auda and built up the firm’s private equity investment activities in Europe, raised and invested their first European fund-of-funds and advised various managed accounts, including the founding family. During his tenure, he invested in numerous private equity funds on a primary and secondary basis and represented investors on the advisory boards of a number of top private equity funds. Before that, he was Head of Private Equity with Auda’s parent company Harald Quandt Holding and contributed to structuring and building up the family’s private equity fund portfolio in Asia (later renamed Auda Asia I) following which he was member of Auda’s Asian investment committee.

He performed his first fund investments in the mid-1990s as one of the first fund-of-funds managers in Germany, as a senior investment manager with Deutsche Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH, at the time Deutsche Bank AG’s private equity captive.

He was responsible for the build-out of a significant global fund-of-funds and co-investments programme successively in Asia, the US and Western Europe in cooperation with the strategic partners HSBC Development Capital in Asia, Morgan Grenfell Development Capital and UIAG in Europe and Harvest Partners in the USA.

Mr. Roesch gained early direct investment experience as an M&A advisor with BHF-Bank AG at the beginning of the 1990s and later with the strategic investor Deutsche Bahn AG Holding, where he was primarily engaged in M&A and joint venture projects in Europe, and as a principal with the investment firm Triton, where he focused on buyout opportunities in the German-speaking countries.

Mr. Roesch holds degrees from French Grandes Ecoles (HEC, Sciences Po) and leading universities. He studied international economics and business management, specialising in corporate strategy and banking and finance.

He is fluent in English, French and German.

Mr. Roesch is an active and appreciated member of the private equity community and participates as speaker, moderator or panelist to panel discussions at leading international private equity, family offices and institutional investors’ conferences.
